A New Chapter Begins – My Move to Ware Wash
It’s now official.
The June roster has been published, and there it is – my name listed under Ware Wash. No more “tentative,” no more wondering. The move I was told about is now real, and it signals the start of a new chapter in my long journey in flight catering operations.
After over two decades of navigating the dynamic pace of tray setups, chiller dispatches, and last-minute flight demands, I now step into an area that often works quietly in the background but plays a critical role in everything we do – cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing equipment for safe use.
While some may see this as just another transfer, I view it as a valuable opportunity to step back, reflect, and bring a fresh perspective. Every team, every area, has its own rhythm and challenges. And I believe Ware Wash is no different – the processes may be repetitive, but the potential for improving standards, team morale, and operational flow is immense.
I’m entering this phase with curiosity and a mindset of learning. My new reporting line has already been shared, and I’ve taken note of my new boss’s strengths – empathy, consistency, individualization, deliberation – a combination that hints at a thoughtful leader who values people as much as performance.
What excites me most is not just the change of environment, but the chance to reframe how we look at core operational tasks. Ware Wash may not always be in the spotlight, but it is foundational. My hope is to contribute by strengthening systems, supporting people, and introducing small but meaningful improvements that make our work better – and perhaps a little easier – for everyone.
It’s the beginning of a new assignment. I’m ready.
